Christian Schwizgebel (1914-1993)
Christian Schwizgebel was born and raised in Lauenen, Saanenland,
Switzerland.
As the son of a baker, Schwizgebel was required to help out by
delivering bread. While doing his rounds, he was often invited into the
homes of customers where he saw paper cut outs hanging on the walls.
Still in the 5th grade, Schwizgebel began to make cut outs and continued
until his death. Today his cutouts are highly sought after.
